Thank you for your continuation in developing this program. It is extremely useful for me. Are you still planning on adding the ability to change the dimensions of GIFs? Thanks! :)

    • Isa says:

You mean resizing gifs? GifCam has a resizing by percent feature to keep the gif dimensions scaled.

      • Michael says:

        Just noticed that. Thanks.

Are there still plans for a 64-bit version?

        • Isa says:

Well, I wrote gifcam with a legal copy of Delphi starter edition, this edition comes only with 32 bit compiler, the 64 bit edition is costly. although there are some advantages of using 64 compiler, but I found the gif encoding Library(TGifImage) that comes with Delphi 64 edition is slow(sometimes more than 2x slower than the 32 bit), I will see if there is an improvement and if it worth.

That’s unfortunate. The Professional upgrade from Starter is $935 USD, so I see your point. :(

Would it be possible to implement video importation capabilities into the program? I was thinking something along the lines of AVI, MP4, and WMV since those are the most common formats that are used.

    • Isa says:

Maybe i will add support to “ffmpeg.exe” as plugin to extract frames from videos and put them into gifcam edit window, ffmpeg.exe is a popular open source encoding/decoding library and command line application that can extract frames from almost any format, if you are interested the below command line will extract frames from video.mp4 from 0:14:50 to 0:14:55 and encode them into gif file:
      ffmpeg.exe -ss 0:14:55 -i video.mp4 -t 0:0:5 gif.gif

    Slam Isa,
is it possible to increase the frame rate (more than the current one which is 33 fps) ?

    • Isa says:

      Wa-alaikum-assalam :),
currently no, you may get higher fps with other gif-screen-recording softwares, i wrote a list here http://blog.bahraniapps.com/?p=569, but in general you will not get a perfect smooth recording with any screen recording software, becouse recording with high fps rate will add more overhead to the system and slow the recording, if you want to record from video it is better to extract its frames.

    Love the new features :)

Thanks for making gifcam, it’s a great and very versatile app. As of lately, though, it seems to not remove the greenscreen-color from the final exported gifs. The rendered gif is basically green wherever no change occured since the last frame. I upgraded to 3.5, but the problem persists. Is there any setting I might have overlooked? Thanks in advance!
